Back-to-School donations for Treehouse to be collected by RYPAC

A Back-to-School donation drive for Treehouse, an agency that helps foster children in King County, will be held during the Redmond Youth Partnership Advisory Committee's (RYPAC) free outdoor showing of the movie "Where the Wild Things Are" on Saturday, July 31 at Idylwood Park Beach, 3650 West Lake Sammamish Parkway in Redmond. RYPAC members will accept donations of clothing and money for Treehouse that night.

A Back-to-School donation drive for Treehouse, an agency that helps foster children in King County, will be held during the Redmond Youth Partnership Advisory Committee’s (RYPAC) free outdoor showing of the movie “Where the Wild Things Are” on Saturday, July 31 at Idylwood Park Beach, 3650 West Lake Sammamish Parkway in Redmond. RYPAC members will accept donations of clothing and money for Treehouse that night.

Donations are needed for elementary, middle school and high school students. Suggested items include jeans, hooded sweatshirts, warm coats, socks, underwear, shoes and more. Cash donations can also be made online at www.treehouseforkids.org.

A donation of $26 will pay for a foster’s child’s school pictures; $35 can buy new shoes; $48 can pay for school field trips; $72 pays for sports fees; $98 buys a new outfit or $104 pays for participation in the school band.

RYPAC’s free outdoor movies begin at dusk, around 9:30 p.m. This Friday’s movie is “Invictus,” being shown on the great lawn at Redmond City Hall, 15670 NE 85th St.
