Blondie, led by singer Debbie Harry, will blaze onto the Marymoor Park stage along with gutsy Exene Cervenka-fronted punk band X opening the concert on Sept. 17. Showtime is at 7 p.m.

Both bands have been around since the 1970s, with Blondie emerging from the punk and new wave scenes in New York and churning out No. 1 hits “Heart of Glass,” “Call Me,” “The Tide is High” and “Rapture.” Drummer Clem Burke is a sight to behold with his blistering, all-over-the-kit style a la Keith Moon.

X formed in Los Angeles and gutted it out in dingy clubs with bands like the Go-Go’s, Germs, Bags and Weirdos. They found some mainstream success, but their early independent albums “Los Angeles” and “Wild Gift” are their standout offerings with songs like “Your Phone’s Off the Hook, But You’re Not” and “We’re Desperate.” Cervenka and bassist John Doe’s vocal harmonies lead the way.

Old Fire House action

Bands Our Bitter Survival, Junk and guests will perform at 7 p.m. tonight at the Old Fire House Teen Center, 16510 N.E. 79th St. in Redmond.

Tomorrow, Redmond High School Latinos Unidos will hold a Mexican Independence Day event from 4-10 p.m.

On Sept. 18, there will be an acoustic open mic at 6 p.m.
