City’s Arts in the Parks series begins July 12

The City of Redmond’s Arts in the Parks summer performance series is in full swing this month and next at Redmond City Hall, 15670 N.E. 85th St.

The City of Redmond’s Arts in the Parks summer performance series is in full swing this month and next at Redmond City Hall, 15670 N.E. 85th St.

This season showcases a variety of free performances for children and families from rock bands for kids to Shakespeare for the whole family.

Tuesdays at noon are reserved for performances specifically for children and caregivers, while Fridays at 7 p.m. are performances for all ages.

“Redmond offers a wide variety of arts opportunities from public art to music performances,” said Joshua Heim, city arts administrator.

“Come, relax and enjoy yourself at a summer afternoon or evening performance. Free parking at City Hall is available so bring your picnic supper and get ready to have a wonderful time.”

July’s schedule:

• July 12 at noon: The Not-Its! Seattle’s super fun, high energy kiddie band, featuring rock and pop tunes that are perfect for children of all ages.

• July 15 at 7 p.m.: LeRoy Bell. Accomplished singer and songwriter, Bell will perform blues and soul.

• July 19 at noon: Lelavision. A truly unique performance and an adventure into music, dance and human sculpture.

• July 22 at 7 p.m.: The Tall Boys. Come on out for some traditional old-time fiddle music by one of Seattle’s finest string bands.

August’s schedule:

• August 2 at noon: The Secret Garden

• August 5 at 7 p.m.: The Tempest

• August 9 at noon: Caspar Babypants

• August 12 at 7 p.m.: Anthony and Cleopatra

• August 16 at noon: Brian Waite

• August 19 at 7 p.m.: Open Mic Night
