Meet author of “The Friday Night Knitting Club” Sept. 26 at Overlake Sears

Fans of Kate Jacobs, author of the New York Times best-selling novel “The Friday Night Knitting Club,” can meet the author and participate in a book reading, signing and knitting event this weekend at the Lands’ End Shop at Sears in the Overlake Park Mall, 2200 148th Ave. in Redmond.

Jacobs will be at the store from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26.

Want to feel good about shopping and giving? For every Lands’ End FeelGood sweater purchased at the event, the company will donate signature FeelGood yarn to One Heart Foundation’s Warming Families, a nationwide knitting charity. Lands’ End expects to donate thousands of pounds of yarn and volunteers plan to knit up to 25,000 hats and other items to warm the homeless and displaced.

Knitters can bring supplies and join in the effort to knit thousands of hats for area homeless people. Lands’ End will supply FeelGood yarn. Hats can be knitted in advance of the event and patterns can be found at www.landsend.com/feelgood.

Attendees will also have chances to win prizes. Any knitter that brings in a handmade hat for the FeelGood campaign will also win a prize.
