Redmond Association of Spokenword (RASP) presents a free, half-day program for local teens called “Open Mic 101,” a poetry and performance workshop from noon-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23 at the Redmond Regional Library, 15990 NE 95th St. in downtown Redmond.
RSVP at teen_workshop@rasp.cc.
Poet and author Katherine Grace Bond will guide participants through writing and reading exercises designed to impart confidence.
As director of TeenWrite, a come-as-your-character writing camp, Bond interacts regularly with strange and wonderful figments of writers’ imaginations. Bring your words and discover how to
“become” your poem.
Supplies and refreshments will be provided. The event is sponsored by RASP and the Redmond Arts Commission and co-sponsored by Friends of the Redmond Library.

Founded in 1977, RASP promotes written and spoken arts in Redmond and East King County and is an independent, 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.
The RASP evening reading series, on the last Friday of each month, takes place at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center and provides an opportunity for anyone to read at an open mic and hear the work of well-known, established authors in their own voices.
