The Overlake School will present its all-school musical, “Children of Eden,” on March 2 at 7:30 p.m. and March 3 at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Fulton Performing Arts Center, located at 20301 NE 108th St. in Redmond.
With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz of “Wicked,” “Godspell” and “Pippin” fame, the book by John Caird is loosely based on the first nine chapters of “Genesis.”
The musical tells a story about human nature, love, families and the relationship between parents and children.
The production involves 60 student singers and dancers in fifth through 12th grades. In preparation, students explored creation myths and flood stories from many world cultures and those traditions inspired the show’s costumes and choreography.
