Fire Explorers from around the region competed in a variety of firefighting and emergency medical skills at the competition.

The participants are between the ages of 14 and 21 and they are youths who are interested in firefighter/medical emergency services careers.

Many fire departments, including Redmond, sponsor Fire Explorer programs to expose young people to the typical duties of firefighters.

Redmond placed fifth among 23 teams in the Combat Challenge Relay.
