The Redmond Police Department’s annual Citizens Academy will start on Jan. 12, 2017. This 12-week program familiarizes the public with common police procedures, activities and investigative techniques.

Classes will be held from 6:30-9:30 p.m. every Thursday in the Public Safety Training Room. There is no charge for this class and you must be 21 to attend.
Sessions are interactive and participants will take part in a variety of demonstrations, presentations and field trips. Topics typically include patrol procedures, mock traffic scenes, use of force procedures, crime scene processing, K-9, SWAT and a field trip to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office. Class members are also offered a ride-along with a patrol officer to see police work first-hand.
