Lands’ End has selected Jake Ewanchuk, son of Cynthia and Brian Ewanchuk of Redmond, as first place winner in the 7-9-year-old age category of its Holiday Art Contest.

Seven-year-old Jake, who also earned honorable mention in Lands’ End’s 2007 Kids’ Holiday Art Contest, earned first place this year with a watercolor penguin presenting a glittery gift.

His artwork is currently featured on the cover of the Lands’ End Kids’ Holiday catalog and posted on landsend.com/artcontest.

An invitation to enter the contest in the Lands’ End Kids’ July catalog prompted thousands of children across America to draw their depiction of “Holiday Fun” in hopes of having their work featured in the catalog. In a little over one month, Lands’ End received more than 2,500 entries.

As first place winner, Jake received a $500 Lands’ End Gift Card. The Kids’ Holiday Art Contest consisted of three age categories: one to six, seven to nine and 10 to 12. Each of the categories was awarded a first, second and third place prize.
