Youth Theatre Northwest to feature Redmond resident Olivia Ochoa in upcoming performances

Beginning Aug. 12, the Youth Theatre Northwest (YTN) in Mercer Island will feature Redmond resident Olivia Ochoa in its production of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."

Beginning Aug. 12, the Youth Theatre Northwest (YTN) in Mercer Island will feature Redmond resident Olivia Ochoa in its production of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”

The show will be run through Aug. 28 with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m., Sundays at 2 p.m. and Wednesdays and Thursdays at 2 p.m. Tickets range from $13 to $17.

“Joseph” was composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by Tim Rice. The musical tells the Biblical story of Joseph and how his jealous brothers sold him into slavery and how Joseph goes on to save Egypt from famine and disaster.

The musical combines a wide variety of musical styles — everything from country to calypso to rock. Recognized for its family friendly storyline, universal themes and catchy music, the show is an audience favorite.

Since 1984, YTN, located at 8805 S.E. 40th St., has been one of the region’s premier youth arts organizations, providing a wide range of dynamic programming for thousands of children and families. The company is in its 28th season of plays.
