18-year-old arrested for stealing gifts for Valentine’s Day | Police blotter

The Redmond police blotter for Feb. 10-16.

Feb. 10

Assault: At 9:04 a.m., in the 9900 block of Willows Road, a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault after he threw a baseball hat and hit a classmate on the head. The victim was treated at a local hospital for his injuries and the suspect was booked into jail.

Theft: At 10 a.m., in the 15800 block of Redmond Way, a 56-year-old woman was arrested after reportedly stealing sunglasses from a drug store, and assaulting an employee. The employee told officers the suspect pushed her, then spit in her face and called her racial slurs.

Theft: In the 7900 block of Willows Road, several senior home residents reported having cash and jewelry taken from their rooms. Police have identified the suspect and charges are pending.

Feb. 11

Car prowl: At 10:05 a.m. in the 4800 block of 156th Avenue Northeast, a landscaper returned to his truck to find a thief had smashed his window and stole his phone and lunch.

Feb. 13

Identity theft: At 9:21 p.m. in the 8900 block of 160th Avenue Northeast, a woman was conned out of thousands of dollars by a caller posing as a Social Security Administration official. The suspect convinced the victim she had a warrant and would be arrested if she did not send money to an address in New Jersey.

False identity: At 12:21 a.m. in the 15800 block of Redmond Way, an 18-year-old man was arrested after he stole alcohol and a floral candy arrangement to give to his girlfriend for Valentine’s Day. The suspect is facing charges for providing a false name to police, theft and being a minor in possession of alcohol.

Feb. 16

Arrest: At 1:51 p.m. in the 16000 block of Redmond Way, a 35-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of driving with a suspended license and possession of meth, heroin and burglary tools.

DUI: At 3:25 p.m. in the 13800 block of Northeast 66th Street, police arrested a 40-year-old woman after she drove over some landscaping and into the side of a building. The suspect exhibited numerous signs of intoxication and smelled strongly of alcohol. No one inside the building was injured.
