520 bridge to close intermittently overnight for maintenance work

Drivers crossing Lake Washington on the State Route 520 floating bridge should be prepared for delays beginning tonight (Wednesday, April 13) while Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) bridge crews perform monthly maintenance work.

Drivers crossing Lake Washington on the State Route 520 floating bridge should be prepared for delays beginning tonight (Wednesday, April 13) while Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) bridge crews perform monthly maintenance work.

Closure details:

• At 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, bridge crews will close the right lane of westbound SR 520 at the east highrise to work on bridge navigation lights. The lane will reopen by 4:30 a.m. Thursday.

• At 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 14, maintenance crews will begin monthly tests of the bridge drawspan. The tests allow bridge crews to make sure the drawspan is in good working order. During drawspan openings, drivers could be delayed up to 30 minutes. Drawspan testing will be completed by 5 a.m.

Drivers can also choose alternate routes to get around Lake Washington, including I-90, I-405 or SR 522.
