Anderson receives Washington State University scholarship

Whitney Anderson was awarded $2,000 through the Virginia M. King Elementary Education Scholarship through the College of Education at Washington State University.

Whitney Anderson was awarded $2,000 through the Virginia M. King Elementary Education Scholarship through the College of Education at Washington State University.

The Virginia M. King Elementary Education Scholarship is awarded to students who are certified in the College of Education and are intent to become an elementary education teacher. Preference is given to a student with the greatest demonstrated financial need.

Anderson graduated from Redmond High School in 2010 and plans to graduate from WSU in May 2014 with a degree in elementary education. She is on the President’s Honor Roll, is a member of Alpha Chi Omega, is involved with Campus Crusade for Christ and was a member of Coug Guys ‘n’ Gals.

Anderson is the daughter of Kathryn Kight of Redmond.
