Artists’ reception event for RTC Arts Festival slated for Thursday

A special reception will be held Thursday evening to honor the artists of this year's Redmond Town Center (RTC) Arts Festival, which will be held this weekend.

A special reception will be held Thursday evening to honor the artists of this year’s Redmond Town Center (RTC) Arts Festival, which will be held this weekend.

The VALA Gallery Artist Reception will be from 6-9 p.m. at 16519 N.E. 74th St, in Center Court Plaza. The VALA (Venues for Artists in the Local Area, Eastside) Gallery, located next door to Sunglass Hat, is sponsored by the RTC and features a collection of jury-selected pieces submitted by festival artists throughout the weekend.

This year’s festival jurors are former Pilchuck Glass School director Marge Levy, artist and VALA board member Donna Wallace of Parklane Gallery in Kirkland, City of Redmond arts administrator Joshua Heim and Digital Arts Festival founder Kamal Siegel.

The jury will also present three festival artists with awards at Thursday’s event.
