Redmond residents are invited to join the Bear Creek Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) and city staff for the final Bear Creek Neighborhood Plan open house event, from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22 on the first floor of Redmond City Hall, 15670 NE 85th St. It is a drop-in event with remarks around 5:30 p.m.

The CAC is completing a draft Neighborhood Plan update, including policies and regulations, based on what it has heard from the neighborhood over the past year.

Key ideas include:

• Protecting what makes the Bear Creek Neighborhood special, particularly the Bear/Evans Creek Valley.

• Providing a variety of housing choices to those who live in the neighborhood now and will in the future.

• Identifying opportunities for indoor gathering places in the neighborhood.

• Ensuring that Avondale Road can carry traffic and be a safe and comfortable street to walk along and across.

To learn more and offer feedback, attend the open house or view materials online at www.redmond.gov/intheworks/bearcreek. The Planning Commission will review the CAC’s recommendation later this fall.
