Cascade Water Alliance announced that it is joining Seattle Public Utilities, Tacoma Water and the City of Everett in declaring a regional water advisory.
Cascade and its members, Redmond, Bellevue, Kirkland, Issaquah, Tukwila and the Sammamish Plateau and Skyway Water and Sewer Districts, get their drinking water from the Seattle water supply. This year’s current low snowpack coupled with high temperatures and resulting increased demand have increased the potential for lower water supply availability. Redmond is making operational changes to maximize water supply.
“Redmond residents and businesses should continue to use water wisely,” stated Mayor John Marchione. “Conserve at home by taking shorter showers, turning off the water when you brush your teeth, cut back on the time spent watering your lawn and take your car to the commercial car wash.”
