As part of worldwide celebrations for International Day of Happiness, Redmond laughter coach Michele Caskey, announces the release of her new book “The Lost Tribe of the Laughing Yippee,” an insightful modern parable about an ancient, wise and silly people, The Yippee, that valued laughter and lightheartedness as their most sacred things.

Caskey will lead her Laughter Fusion Laughter Yoga Club from 6:30-7:30 p.m. April 5 at the Redmond Public Library.

In her work as a laughter coach Caskey has spent much of her life investigating the relationship between laughter, happiness and well-being. She is commonly sought out by individuals and organizations when they have lost their laughter.

“It is almost impossible to be happy without laughter and it is amazingly easy to reconnect with your sense of joy once laughter has been reintroduced to your life. People are under the impression that they can find happiness through success and achievement of goals,” says Caskey, “This more often leads to merely to a sense of satisfaction. While satisfaction is enjoyable, the mo re intense feelings of elation, delight and joy are more commonly associated with happiness. My workshops that animate the laughter in people also activate their happiness and revive their zest for life. We can laugh before anything is funny as easily as we can become deeply happy with the world exactly as it is.”
