The City of Redmond and the Cascade Land Conservancy are partnering to sponsor a work party on May 28 from 9 a.m. to noon at Grass Lawn Park, located at 7031 148 Ave. N.E.

All those who care about Redmond’s urban forests can help by volunteering to remove invasive plants and plant native trees and shrubs to re-establish a healthy forest and mitigate carbon in the atmosphere.

No experience is necessary and gloves, tools and other materials are available. It is important to dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. All ages are welcome, although volunteers younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult or bring a signed waiver (available at www.greenredmond.org, on the Volunteer Schedule page).

This event is part of the Last Saturday of the Month program from Green Redmond.

The remaining events will take place on the following days and parks:

June 25 – Westside Park, 5810 156 Ave. N.E.
July 30 – Idylwood Beach Park, 3650 W. Lake Sammamish Pkwy. N.E.
August 27 – Farrel-McWhirter Farm Park, 19545 Redmond Rd.
September 24 – Farrel-McWhirter Farm Park
October 29 – Hartman Park, 17300 N.E. 104 St.
