For nine consecutive years, the City of Redmond has achieved a favorable audit and in 2015 was awarded the State Auditor’s Stewardship Award in recognition of outstanding accomplishments in the stewardship of public resources.
On Aug. 28, the city received an independent audit report for Jan. 1, 2016, through Dec. 31, 2016 from the Office of the Washington State auditor Pat McCarthy. The Financial Statements and Federal Single Audit Report found that “City operations complied with applicable requirements and provided adequate safeguarding of public resources. The City complied with state laws and regulations and its own policies and procedures in the areas we examined.”
The State Auditor’s Report promotes accountability, integrity and openness in government. The information provided in the report is valuable to management, the governing body and public stakeholders when assessing the government’s stewardship of public resources.
