This week, the City of Redmond Transportation Services will launch a citywide freight and mobility survey to solicit opinions from area business owners regarding how to efficiently move goods and services through Redmond.

Results from this survey will provide a better understanding of the movement of goods and services around the city and identify freight concerns and needs of local business owners.

With the use of this and other information, city staff will identify ways to improve the city street system to better accommodate commercial traffic.

Companies such as United Parcel Service and Cadman Gravel generate a high volume of truck traffic and any future development in this area will be impacted.

Some members of the Redmond business community will be contacted directly about the survey and asked to submit their opinions. All business owners can access the survey on the city’s Web site at www.redmond.gov/survey.

The survey can be completed and submitted online, or can be printed from the Web site, filled-out and mailed or delivered to the City Hall address on the Web site. To be included in the results, completed surveys should be returned by Jan. 20, 2009.
