County flood preparedness workshop set for Oct. 28

Farmers who work the rich bottomlands along King County rivers can learn more about flood preparedness, flood recovery and beneficial changes to building rules to help them better protect their livestock and livelihoods, at an Oct. 28 workshop.

Farmers who work the rich bottomlands along King County rivers can learn more about flood preparedness, flood recovery and beneficial changes to building rules to help them better protect their livestock and livelihoods, at an Oct. 28 workshop.

Sponsored by the King County Agriculture Commission and the King County Department of Development and Environmental Services’ Agriculture Permit Team, the workshop will be at Sno-Valley Senior Center, 4610 Stephens Ave., Carnation, from 7-9 p.m.

An hour-long open house starts at 6 p.m., and will provide participants with detailed information about flood mapping on specific properties and other issues. Participants can also stay after the meeting to look at flood maps and ask questions.
