DigiPen Day set for Saturday: A variety of activities planned for community event

Redmond-based DigiPen Institute of Technology is opening its doors to the community on Saturday as part of DigiPen Day.

Redmond-based DigiPen Institute of Technology is opening its doors to the community on Saturday as part of DigiPen Day.

From noon to 3 p.m., DigiPen is inviting the community to play, create and explore the world of gaming and digital art at the Redmond campus, located at 9931 Willows Road N.E.

Aug. 27 was officially declared DigiPen Day by Redmond Mayor John Marchione last year at DigiPen’s ribbon cutting ceremony, which marked the opening of the new campus.

DigiPen Day will feature a variety of fun and engaging educational activities, including interactive games, ProjectFUN classes and even robotic car racing around DigiPen’s Indy-style racetrack.

Other activities include an inflatable obstacle course and bounce house, golf-putting course, a photo booth, and more.DigiPen’s Bits and Bytes Café will also be offering complimentary carnival snacks, including popcorn and cotton candy, as well as a barbeque lunch.
