The City of Redmond is sponsoring a personal disaster preparedness seminar from 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 15 at the Redmond Regional Library, 15990 NE 85th St.

The program, called “Pass It On,” details the plans every family should make to be prepared to stand alone, for three to five days after an earthquake or major storm. According to Tom Osborn, emergency management specialist for the City of Redmond, “If you are prepared properly for a severe winter storm, you’re prepared for most any Northwest disaster.”

The seminar will explain what essentials are needed for a family’s survival and safety after a disaster, including special medications, supplies for the family pets and cash for three to five days.

“While most of us are not thinking ‘disaster’ in the warm days of summer, this is a perfect time to gather your supplies and make your plans so everything is in place for that first winter storm,” Osborn noted. “We all know how quickly time passes.”

Reservations are not needed for the seminar. For information, contact Tom Osborn at tosborn@redmond.gov or (425) 556-2276.
