Donnelly to be sworn in as new Redmond fire chief May 10

On May 10, Kevin Donnelly will be sworn in as the City of Redmond's new fire chief.

On May 10, Kevin Donnelly will be sworn in as the City of Redmond’s new fire chief.

The ceremony will be performed at before the City Council meeting at 7 p.m. at the council chambers in City  Hall, 15670 N.E. 85th St., by East Division – Redmond Court District Court Judge Michael Finkle. The Redmond Firefighters’ Union will host a reception immediately following the ceremony.

Donnelly’s career began in 1986 as a fire engineer for Felton Fire Protection District in Felton, Calif. In 1991, he transferred to the City of Lodi as a firefighter and engineer and was promoted through the ranks to captain, battalion chief, division chief of operations and finally to fire chief in 2009. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in public safety management from California State University.

“Kevin displays the characteristics and traits required of a director on my management team,” said Mayor John Marchione. “His leadership and management skills, along with excellent interpersonal skills, will make him a valuable addition to the city’s fire department and the community.”

Donnelly and his family are in the process of relocating to Redmond from Lodi.
