‘Drugstore Cowboy’ author pleads guilty to Pharmaca burglary

According to a Seattle P-I article, James Fogle, author of “Drugstore Cowboy,” pleaded guilty on Wednesday to robbing Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy at 15840 Redmond Way. Prosecutors will seek a 16-year prison term for Fogle, who is in his 70s. Fogle was arrested on May 25, 2010, along with his accomplice, Shannon Benn, for trying to steal prescription drugs from the pharmacy, which is just blocks away from the Redmond Public Safety Building. According to King County court documents, Fogle’s criminal history dates back to 1954 and was previously in state prison after being convicted of robbing a Kent pharmacy in 2004.
