On Oct. 14, the Eastside Transportation Partnership (ETP) voted to adopt a position in opposition to Initiative 1125, a measure concerning tolling on roadways throughout the state — including State Route 520.

The ETP, whose chair is Redmond City Council member Kimberly Allen, is an organization of local elected city and King County officials representing the east side of Lake Washington. ETP provides an Eastside forum for leadership, education and advocacy on regional transportation issues.

The ETP came to its stance at its Oct. 14 meeting after hearing presentations by Kemper Freeman, owner of Bellevue Square, in support of I-1125 and by former the Secretary of the State Department of Transportation Doug MacDonald and Deputy King County Executive Fred Jarrett in opposition of the measure.
