The Redmond-based EndBrainCancer Initiative raised $42,000 at its annual golf fundraiser on July 30.
The 18-hole fundraiser took place at The Plateau Club in Sammamish with the money being used for assisting and educating people who have brain tumors, a press release from the Initiative said.
The Initiative pre-qualifies brain cancer patients for clinical trials, promotes programs and funds research.
The organization was formerly known as the Chris Elliott Fund and was established in 2002.
It also advocates the use of genomic DNA testing and the use of a DNA repair protein to fight cancer and collaborates with medical, bio-tech and pharmaceutical institutions to find better ways to treat bran cancer.
