Firefighters extinguish Redmond apartment blaze

There were no reported injuries in a Redmond apartment fire on the afternoon of Dec. 29.

Firefighters from the Redmond Fire Department extinguished the blaze with the assistance of the Kirkland Fire Department at the Sixty O One Apartment Complex in the 6000 block of 136th Avenue Northeast, according to a press release. Firefighters were dispatched to the complex at 2:50 p.m. to find heavy smoke and flames in one of the units. The fire was fully doused at around 3:20 p.m.

Investigators were on the scene and working to determine the cause of the fire. One apartment unit sustained heavy smoke, fire and some water damage with no extension to the surrounding units.

This is the second fire in the complex within the last 18 months. On June 11, 2016, firefighters from multiple agencies extinguished a three-alarm fire that damaged multiple units in another area of the complex.
