Four Redmond teens receive community service scholarships

Four teens from Redmond have received Gary Compton Teen Community Service scholarships.

Four teens from Redmond have received Gary Compton Teen Community Service scholarships.

The recipients — Brynn Ehni, Alexandra Minsk, Susanna French and Athena Anderle — all performed more than 150 hours of community service each to receive the scholarship, which his funded by the American Legion Post 161. The scholarships are for $1,500 each.

“These youth have given back to their community over 150 hours of community service in the past year. They see the value of service and I know will continue to give in the future,” said Ken Wong, teen programs administrator for the City of Redmond.

Ehni will be attending American University; Minsk will be going Dartmouth College and French and Anderle will be attending the University of Washington.
