Horace Mann’s Gonzalez honored in patrol hall of fame

Sancha Gonzalez, a fifth grader at Horace Mann Elementary School in Redmond, was selected as one of 10 outstanding patrollers in Washington state to be inducted in the 2014 AAA School Safety Patrol Hall of Fame.

Sancha Gonzalez, a fifth grader at Horace Mann Elementary School in Redmond, was selected as one of 10 outstanding patrollers in Washington state to be inducted in the 2014 AAA School Safety Patrol Hall of Fame.

In recognition of her dedication to safety, community stewardship and leadership, Gonzalez will be recognized at an evening awards ceremony held before a Seattle Mariners game at Safeco Field on May 9.

AAA Washington and a panel of judges from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction and the Washington Traffic Safety Commission select the top patrollers from schools across Washington each year.

Debbie Green, school safety patrol advisor at Benjamin Rush Elementary School in Redmond, will also be recognized as the AAA School Safety Patrol Advisor of the Year.
