Incumbents lead in early results for primary election

Early results in King County for Tuesday's primary election have incumbent Suzan DelBene leading in the Congressional District 1 representative race. The following results were posted Wednesday afternoon.

Early results in King County for Tuesday’s primary election have incumbent Suzan DelBene leading in the Congressional District 1 representative race. The following results were posted Wednesday afternoon.

DelBene, who prefers the Democratic Party, has 62.94 percent or 22,587 votes.

Robert Sutherland of the Republican Party, leads the remaining four candidates with 23.00 percent, or 8,253 votes.

John Orlinski, who also prefers the Republican Party, follows with 9.07 percent, or 3,256 votes.

Nineteen votes separate the remaining two candidates, with Alex Storms of the Independent Party with 2.48 percent, or 890 votes.

Scott Stafne, representing the Libertarian Party, received 2.43 percent, or 871 votes.

In the 45th District, Position 1 race, incumbent Roger Goodman, who prefers the Democratic Party, leads with 61.89 percent, or 11,239 votes. Challenger Ramiro Valderrama of the Republican Party received 37.93 percent, or 6,888 votes.

For 45th District, Position 2, incumbent Larry Springer, who prefers the Democratic Party, is running unopposed and received 96.54 percent, or 13,390 votes. There were 480, 0r 3.46 percent, write-in votes.

In the 48th District, Position 1 race, incumbent Patty Kuderer of the Democratic Party leads with 73.73 percent, or 10,499 votes. Challenger Michelle Darnell, who prefers the Libertarian Party, received 25.85 percent, or 3,681 votes.

Incumbent Joan McBride, who prefers the Democratic Party, is leading in the 48th District, Position 2 race with 77.34 percent, or 10,938 votes. Challenger Ben Phelps of the Libertarian Party received 22.22 percent, or 3,143 votes.

Final results of the election will be certified on Aug. 16.
