A 36-year-old Shell Station clerk from Redmond was treated at Harborview Medical Center for injuries to the head and released on Tuesday.

Redmond Police say that the man was hit with what they believe was a hammer, according to police spokesman Jim Bove.

Redmond Police are looking for three male suspects who stole cigarettes from the Redmond Shell Gasoline Station on Avondale Road early last Thursday morning after hitting the male clerk in the head with “an object that may have been a hammer,” Bove said.

Police can’t be totally sure of what caused the clerk’s injuries because the suspects left the store with the weapon. In addition, the clerk can’t remember what the weapon looked like, Bove said.

“He took a pretty hard hit to the head so his memory is pretty fuzzy, which is why we can’t confirm whether or not it was a hammer that was used,” Bove said.

The incident occurred in the 11600 block of Avondale Road at approximately 3:30 a.m.

Bove said the police department will not release the name of the victim because of the pending investigation.

According to Redmond detectives, three males entered the store while the clerk was alone. One of the suspects attacked the clerk on the head with a weapon of some sort. The suspects then stole cigarettes and ran away from the store on foot.
