Lake Washington School Foundation to host luncheon fundraiser April 20

The Lake Washington Schools Foundation’s (LWSF) annual luncheon, "A Legacy for Learning Luncheon" will be Wednesday, April 20, at Juanita High School at 10601 NE 132nd St. in Kirkland.

The Lake Washington Schools Foundation’s (LWSF) annual luncheon, “A Legacy for Learning Luncheon” will be Wednesday, April 20, at Juanita High School at 10601 NE 132nd St. in Kirkland.

The luncheon is a fundraiser for foundation programs, which benefit students throughout the Lake Washington School District (LWSD). This year’s keynote speaker will be Dr. Bonnie J. Dunbar, former president and chief executive officer of the Museum of Flight and an astronaut with five space missions. She is currently Executive Director of Wings over Washington (an affiliate organization of the Museum of Flight dedicated to future development of the museum). A University of Washington College of Engineering graduate, Dunbar will speak about her passion for education, especially science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

Doors open for check-in at 11 a.m. The luncheon and program start at 11:30 a.m. and end promptly at 12:30. Lunch is complimentary; there is a suggested minimum donation of $150. Sponsorship and volunteer opportunities are available.
