LWSD reschedules mandatory meetings for choice schools

Due to last week's snow, mandatory parent meetings for some Lake Washington School District (LWSD) choice schools were rescheduled.

Due to last week’s snow, mandatory parent meetings for some Lake Washington School District (LWSD) choice schools were rescheduled.

The new schedule made it difficult if not impossible to meet the original deadlines for applications. As a result, some schools will have a later application due date to accommodate their later meetings. Stella Schola applications will be due on Jan. 31 and applications for Discovery Elementary, Northstar Middle and the STEM school will be due Feb. 3.

Those choice schools whose meetings took place before the snowstorm will continue to follow the original schedule and hold their lotteries on Feb. 3. Stella Schola will also be included in that lottery. A second lottery will be held on Feb. 10 for Discovery, Northstar and the STEM school.

All schools will send notification letters on Feb. 15. Acceptance is due for all schools by February 27.

Revised choice schools schedule:

• Jan. 27 – Applications due for Community Elementary, Explorer Elementary, EAS, Renaissance, ICS and Cambridge.
