The ACT is not a required benchmark, but the number of students taking the ACT has risen by 130 students in the last two years, to 604 students this spring.

The English benchmark saw the biggest improvement, with the district-wide score jumping from 25.6 to 26.3 . Of the students who took the ACT, 92 percent met the benchmark. State-wide, only 73 percent of students pass, and the national average is even lower at 61 percent.

The science and reading scores both jumped by half a point, and the math scores jumped from 25.8 to 26.1.
