Machinists Union District Lodge 751‘s annual Guide Dogs of America Charity Golf Tournament raised $15,000 for charity.

The tournament’s organizing group recently presented a check for $15,000.66 for the charity. The tournament was held July 20 at the Willows Run Golf Course in Redmond. Nearly 200 golfers took part.

“We had a really good day and raised some money for a great cause,” said tournament chairman Mark Clark. “Our thanks go to all the volunteers and of course, to our sponsors.”

The tournament was a fundraiser for Guide Dogs of America, the California-based charity that provides service dogs and training in their use free of charge to people who are blind or have impaired vision from across the United States and Canada. District 751 is the No. 1 fundraiser for the charity. Over the past five years, it has raised nearly $1.5 million, including a record $384,000 in 2013.
