Make a difference: LINKS to offer volunteer training Jan. 20

Do you have just one hour a week to make a difference in the life of a student? The Lake Washington School District currently has more than 60 open requests for volunteers throughout the cities of Redmond, Kirkland and Sammamish.

LINKS (Looking Into Needs of Kids and Schools) volunteers help teachers in many ways. There are opportunities to work with multiple students in a classroom setting, tutor a student one-on- one, mentor elementary aged kids as a Lunch Buddy or tutor during after-school study programs.

A LINKS volunteer orientation is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20 at the Lake Washington School District Resource Center, 16250 NE 74th St. in Redmond Town Center.
