This year, the mayor, council members and commissioners, will be asking shoppers to donate “super foods,” including whole grains, nut butters and dried fruits in addition to the standard canned goods, such as vegetables, soups and beans. These donations benefit the Hopelink food bank. Last year, nearly 5,000 pounds of food was donated by Redmond’s generous community members.

This Day of Concern Food Drive is part of a month-long community wide effort, with other participating cities: Bellevue, Kirkland, Issaquah, Mercer Island, North Bend and Sammamish.
