Multiple tasting rooms, including five in Redmond, need food establishment permits to fully operate

Multiple local wine, beer or spirit tasting rooms had operations limited to only activities that are exempt from the requirements of the Food Code due to operating without a required food establishment permit, according to the Public Health — Seattle & King County site. This means the businesses are not able to provide tastings in reusable glassware or serve other foods subject to the Food Code.

The businesses — five in Redmond, five in Woodinville and one in North Bend — can continue to sell bottled wine, beer and spirits and provide tastings in give-away or single-use glassware only, the site adds. Full operations can be restored at tasting rooms that receive approval of plans and obtain a food establishment permit.
