Tuesday, March 28

Theft: Redmond police took a theft report at 11:40 p.m. in the 17600 block of Redmond Way. Officers were called to a hotel after an employee observed an individual forcibly taking the cash box from a vending machine. The area was searched with the assistance of a K9 unit, but no suspect was located. Video footage is being reviewed to identify the responsible party.

Monday, March 27

Burglary: Redmond police took a non-residential-burglary report at 8:12 a.m. in the 15400 block of Bel-Red Road. Two subjects were observed attempting to break into a closed business and then fled. Officers were unable to locate the suspects or their vehicle. Damage to the business indicates an attempt was made to open a locked door, but no entry was made. The case is under investigation.

Saturday, March 25

Shoplifting: Redmond police took a shoplifting report at 6:02 p.m. in the 17600 block of Union Hill Road. Loss-prevention staff at a retail business called police after seeing a customer leave the store with unpaid makeup. Officers located the described vehicle and contacted the driver, who was positively identified as the suspect. Misdemeanor theft charges are being filed.

Friday, March 24

ID theft: Redmond police took an ID-theft report at 10:07 a.m. in the 11700 block of 174th Place Northeast. A citizen contacted police after discovering that her family had been victimized by identity theft. Several fraudulent accounts have been opened under the victim’s names. Follow up is ongoing to determine the extent of the ID theft as well as gathering of evidence.

Thursday, March 23

Found it: Redmond police became aware of a found wheelchair at a downtown apartment complex. It was discovered that the wheelchair had been stolen approximately two weeks earlier from a vehicle in Redmond. An officer was able to reunite the wheelchair with its owner. Wednesday, March 22

Shoplifting: Redmond police took a shoplifting report at 6:31 p.m. in the 16600 block of Redmond Way. An unknown suspect entered a business and inquired about musical instruments. Without funds to purchase the items, the perpetrator exited the store and ran with two violins in hand. Officers searched the area but did not locate the suspect.
