Muslim Community Resource Center expands at Together Center

Muslim Community Resource Center (MCRC) has moved into a new office at Together Center (A-4). The center will now have more room for programs and has also expanded from one day per week in the center’s Advocate Office to a full-time presence. A full-time case manager, Mustafa Haji, will staff the office.

“MCRC has provided significant support for the community over the last year,” Together Center CEO Pam Mauk, noted. “They offer bus passes, emergency funds and information on where to get additional assistance both on and off Together Center’s campus. They work closely with the City of Redmond’s Outreach Specialist on the needs of the homeless, the Cultural Navigator Program on immigrant and other concerns and many other Together Center service providers. Their services are open to all, and with their new space, they will be able to do much more.”

Co-founder Nickhath Sheriff noted, “With the additional space, we will be able to bring some of the programs we have developed elsewhere to Together Center’s campus, and we can add new programs as well.”

They will provide legal services thanks to attorneys offering pro-bono assistance, and are making plans for English as a Second Language (ESL) classes and mediation classes, as two examples. They also plan to have food boxes on hand to give away to those arriving hungry, and have sewing projects they plan to launch with volunteers.

The office is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and by appointment on Fridays. For more information, call 1-888-404-6272.

One of the first nonprofit multi-tenant centers in the nation, Together Center was designed to lower barriers to finding help. More than 28,000 people from throughout the Eastside find assistance each year from 22 agencies and other resources at Together Center’s location in downtown Redmond. Services include medical and dental care, youth shelter, child care assistance, youth and family counseling and more.
