Neighbors help keep Viewpoint Park green and clean

Several volunteers worked together last Saturday to help spruce up Viewpoint Park in southeast Redmond.

Several volunteers worked together last Saturday to help spruce up Viewpoint Neighborhood Park in southeast Redmond.

Volunteers removed invasive plants and planted native trees and shrubs to re-establish a healthy forest and mitigate carbon in the atmosphere.

The event was part of the Last Saturday of the Month program put on by the Green Redmond Partnership.

The remaining events will take place on the following days and at the following parks:

• Aug. 25 – Farrel-McWhirter Farm Park, 19545 Redmond Rd.

• Sept. 29 – Redmond Watershed Preserve, 21760 Novelty Hill Rd.

• Oct. 27 – Viewpoint Park, 18440 N.E. 24th St.

All volunteers should look for Green Redmond Partnership event signs to sign-in and receive their tools and gloves.
