Theft: Redmond police took a theft report of a 1996 blue Honda Accord at 8:26 p.m. in the 9300 block of Avondale Road.

Monday, Oct. 3

Assault: Redmond police took an assault report at 12:09 p.m. in the 8500 block of 148th Avenue Northeast. Officers arrested a 28-year-old male suspect taking a tour of an apartment when he inappropriately grabbed the employee.

Sunday, Oct. 2

Theft: Redmond police took a report of a theft from a motor vehicle at 12:22 p.m. in the 7300 block of 170th Avenue Northeast. Someone smashed a rear passenger window and stole a purse, wallet and Nikon camera.

Saturday, Oct. 1

Shoplifting: Redmond police took a shoplifting report at 11:18 p.m. in the 17700 block of Northeast 76th Street. Officers arrested a male for stealing electronics and fragrances.

Friday, Sept. 30

Burglary: Redmond police took a burglary report at 6:04 a.m. in the 8600 block of 161st Avenue Northeast. Someone smashed a glass door, entered a business and filled a bag with jewelry.

Thursday, Sept. 29

Theft: Redmond police took a theft report at 4:57 p.m. in the 7300 block of 170th Avenue Northeast. A gym patron reported that his locker padlock was opened and his wallet and watch were stolen while he was working out.

Wednesday, Sept. 28

Indecent liberties: Redmond police took an indecent-liberties report at 7:55 p.m. in the 15900 block of Northeast 85th Street. Officers responded when a man reported that someone assaulted his girlfriend at the library. After having multiple conversations with several transients, officers trespassed one individual per the library’s request.

• While no “creepy clowns” have been reported roaming around Redmond, the Redmond Police Department notes about this national trend:

Dressing up as a clown is not a crime.

Parents should talk to their teenagers about this.

Don’t fuel the trend…that includes spreading unfounded rumors about clown sightings or Redmond schools being shut down due to clown threats. We will let the public know of serious threats to public safety.

If a clown however, is on private property without permission, harassing others or wielding a weapon, that is an issue and should be reported to 911.
