Officers arrest suspect for misdemeanor assault on trail | Police Blotter for July 5-11

Tuesday, July 11

Assault: Redmond police took an assault report at 12:38 p.m. in the 6500 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway. Officers searched the area around the Burke Gilman Trail after several callers reported a suspicious male in the area. One officer discovered an individual who stated she was assaulted by this subject earlier. The suspect was reported to have pushed her with his foot as she was walking away from him. There were no injuries. The suspect was later located in the same area and arrested for misdemeanor assault.

Monday, July 10

Shoplifting: Redmond police took a shoplifting report at 4:38 p.m. in the 15300 block of Northeast 24th Street. Staff at a retail store detained an elderly couple after they were observed selecting items of merchandise and attempting to leave without paying. The couple agreed to pay for the items after officers arrived. No criminal charges have been filed.

Sunday, July 9

Burglary: Redmond police took a burglary report at 3:33 p.m. in the 8300 block of 158th Avenue Northeast. A local apartment resident called police after discovering that someone broke into her rented storage unit. Padlocks had been cut and a bicycle was taken from the storage room. The case is under investigation.

Saturday, July 8

Assault: Redmond police took an assault report at 8:36 p.m. in the 8200 block of 149th Way Northeast. According to police, an argument led to an intoxicated female suspect using a knife to threaten the victim and damage a wall and door inside the residence. During the argument, the suspect scratched and bit the victim. The suspect was arrested for second-degree assault and malicious mischief. She was booked into the King County Jail.

Friday, July 7

Burglary: Redmond police took a residential-burglary report at 4 p.m. in the 7000 block of Old Redmond Road. An apartment resident came home to find the door to his unit damaged and open. An unknown suspect(s) had entered the residence and stole items of jewelry. The case is under investigation.

Thursday, July 6

Trespassing: Redmond police took a criminal-trespassing report at 1:26 p.m. in the 15900 block of Northeast 85th Street. Library employees called police after seeing a subject inside the building who was trespassed from the location. Officers contacted the subject and a valid trespass order was found to exist. The suspect was arrested for first-degree criminal trespassing and booked into the South Correctional Entity jail in Des Moines.

Wednesday, July 5

Fraud: Redmond police took a fraud report at 2:46 p.m. in the 17000 block of Northeast 104th Court. An officer investigated after a citizen discovered funds had been removed from her bank account without permission. Follow-up is being conducted to document the fraudulent transactions.
