Fraud: Redmond police took a fraud report at 1:23 p.m. in the 4000 block of West Lake Sammamish Parkway. Someone claiming to be with Puget Sound Energy (PSE) called a business owner and told him one of his businesses had an overdue bill and the power was going to be shut off. After calling the “billing center” phone number they provided, which had a recording of a PSE introduction, he was told he had one hour to get a MoneyPak pre-paid card for $492.64 and provide the numbers over the phone.

Theft: Redmond police took a report of a theft of a motor vehicle at 11:53 a.m. in the 11500 block of Avondale Road. A caller left a green Oldsmobile Bravada SUV vehicle in Redmond a few nights prior, but could not remember exactly where it was parked. After taking the bus back and searching for a few days, they called to report it stolen.

Monday, Aug. 22

Trespassing: Redmond police took a trespassing report at 10:02 p.m. in the 16000 block of Redmond Way. A trespass letter was issued for a male causing a disturbance at a local gas station over the purchase of lottery tickets.

Theft: Redmond police took a report of a theft from a building at 8:27 p.m. in the 9300 block of Avondale Road. A resident reported a theft when guests he invited to his home took his iPad, prescription drugs and cash.

Sunday, Aug. 21

Fraud: Redmond police took a fraud report at 8:13 p.m. in the 17700 block of Northeast 76th Street. A man reported that he lost his wallet in Bellevue and his credit cards were used shortly after at the Redmond Target and Fred Meyer.

Saturday, Aug. 20

Malicious mischief: Redmond police took a malicious-mischief report at 3:02 p.m. in the 8400 block of 166th Avenue Northeast. A man reported that a driver backed over his plastic flower pot and broke it.

Theft: Redmond police took a report of a theft from a motor vehicle at 8:59 a.m. in the 4000 block of 148th Avenue Northeast. Someone prowled a business work truck during the night. Windows were shattered and several types of surveying equipment were stolen, including tripods, rods, levels and tribrachs.

Friday, Aug. 19

Disturbance: According to the Redmond Police Department Twitter that afternoon, they received several calls about a woman creating a disturbance in the street near Northeast 85th Street/160th Avenue Northeast. She received medical assistance and clothes.

Burglary: Redmond police took a residential-burglary report at 8:07 a.m. in the 13400 block of Northeast 104th Street. Officers assisted a resident who called to report some items had been stolen from her home. Officers were able to find the missing wallet at the home and also helped search for a few other missing items.

Thursday, Aug. 18

Controlled substance: Redmond police took a controlled-substance-possession report at 11:12 p.m. in the 17800 block of Redmond Way. A man was reportedly threatening friends and others with a knife. Officers detained the man, who did have a folding knife and was possibly impaired by recent drug use. Two other men with him were identified and their Department of Corrections supervisors were contacted.

Graffiti: Redmond police took a graffiti report at 7:44 a.m. in the 17000 block of Northeast 104th Street. Someone defaced the cement wall in the covered area of the Horace Mann Elementary playground.

Wednesday, Aug. 17

Theft: Redmond police took a report of a theft from a building at 11:12 a.m. in the 17200 block of Avondale Way. Officers assisted with a dispute about property taken by a previous employee.

Shoplifting: Redmond police took a shoplifting report at 9:42 a.m. in the 17100 block of Redmond Way. Someone at a store reported a theft two days earlier of more than $1,000 in fragrances and cosmetics. Suspects were four women and one man.
