One person in custody for possible explosive device

Update: the device was determined to be harmless

Redmond Police Department responded to a call of a possible explosive device, closing down 178th Place Northeast between Northeast 76th Street and Union Hill Road for part of the afternoon, Monday, June 8.

Now the device has been determined to be harmless. The person involved is also in custody, according to Redmond police, and being connected with mental health professionals.

Bellevue Police Department bomb squad investigated the device.
