The Redmond Youth Partnership Advisory Committee (RYPAC) presents No Child Wet Behind.

Tomorrow and Sunday, Redmond residents will have an opportunity to get involved and support local families in need of diapers. RYPAC will be collecting unopened diapers and monetary donations at the QFC in the Bella Bottega shopping center at 8867 161st Ave. N.E. on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. On Sunday, they will be collecting at Whole Foods at 17991 N.E. Redmond Way from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. All diapers will be donated to Northwest Harvest.

From May 2-6, local schools will be collecting money for the drive along with the Redmond Senior Center and local maternity stores in Redmond.

The week will culminate in a RYPAC sponsored day for youth to gather together, celebrate service and “makeover” the outside of a Redmond foster home owned by Friends of Youth.

The makeover will be on May 7 and the youth will do much-needed yard work, paint flower pots for other foster families and more. To conclude the hard day’s work, there will be fun activities and food.

This event is open to all youth in the community but an RSVP to rypac@redmond.gov is required.

The event is sponsored by RYPAC, with support from Northwest Harvest and Friends of Youth. For more information or to RSVP, contact Michele Loewy at (425) 556-2329 or rypac@redmond.gov.
