Open house to review plans for Perrigo Park addition

The public is invited to an open house to review drawings and plans for a four-acre addition to Perrigo Park.

The Open House will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3 in the lobby of Redmond City Hall, 15670 NE 85th St.

The project will also be reviewed by the Redmond Parks and Trails Commission at their regularly scheduled meeting on the same evening, beginning at 7 p.m.

Perrigo Park is a 28-acre community park along the east boundary of the City of Redmond. It contains a sports complex that includes sand volleyball, soccer and ball fields, tennis courts and a large group picnic shelter.  The city acquired an additional four-acre parcel on the northeast corner of the park that includes an old barn, formerly known as the Enso Center.

The new addition to the 28-acre Perrigo Park will be developed to include an expanded children’s play area, additional parking, a loop trail around an open play meadow and several small picnic shelters.

The existing old barn will be renovated into a maintenance facility for the park.

A master plan for this second phase of the park was prepared in 2008, with input from the public to determine the additional park features. The project is now in the design stage and the City of Redmond wants to share how the public’s ideas have been incorporated into the design of the park. Construction is slated to begin mid-summer 2010.
