People can get free health screenings, cardiac and diabetes risk assessments and speak directly with physicians during Overlake’s annual Eastside Vitality Screenings and Fair.

Community members may attend one of Overlake Medical Clinics’ free health screenings held throughout September, and Overlake Medical Center will hold its annual Eastside Vitality Health Fair on Oct. 24, featuring the grand opening of the new Overlake Neuroscience Institute. All events take place from 8-11 a.m. at the following locations:

• Sept. 19 at Overlake Medical Clinics Issaquah (5708 E. Lake Sammamish Pkwy. S.E.)

• Sept. 26 at Overlake Medical Clinics Redmond (Redmond Town Center: 7345 164th Ave. N.E., Suite I-105)

• Oct. 24 at Overlake Medical Center Main Campus in Bellevue (400 108th Ave. N.E.)

“We are excited to offer important health screenings across the Eastside community during our annual Eastside Vitality health events,” said J. Michael Marsh, Overlake’s president and CEO. “The screenings and health fair held at our various clinics not only help patients prevent or identify serious health concerns, but also highlight the unique and innovative programs Overlake has to offer.”

In addition, Eastside Vitality will serve as an opportunity for the community to become familiar with Overlake Medical Clinics’ primary care physicians, cardiologists and other health care specialists. The final event, at the main hospital campus in Bellevue, will feature health screenings plus additional skin cancer spot checks, carotid screenings (based on referral only—check our website for details) and target heart rate assessments.

Event attendees will also have the opportunity to tour the new Overlake Neuroscience Institute. Other health displays include robotic surgery demonstrations, tips for planning healthy meals, and CPR and automatic external defibrillator (AED) demonstrations by the Bellevue Fire Department. Overlake providers including pharmacists, cardiologists, pulmonologists, gastroenterologists, endocrinologists, colorectal, orthopedic and other surgeons will also be on hand to provide their expertise.

Walk-ins are welcome, but screenings are limited. Pre-registration is recommended for all dates except Oct. 24, where screenings will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. For full event details and to register, visit overlakehospital.org/eastsidevitality.
