Pet Fair barks into Redmond May 7

The City of Redmond's Parks & Recreation Department will present their 8th Annual Pet Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 7. This event will provide people with an opportunity to celebrate the relationship they have with their pets, to learn more about their pets and to introduce some of the pet programs and activities available in our community.

The City of Redmond’s Parks & Recreation Department will present their 8th Annual Pet Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 7. This event will provide people with an opportunity to celebrate the relationship they have with their pets, to learn more about their pets and to introduce some of the pet programs and activities available in our community.

The Pet Fair will be located on the Redmond Municipal Campus in and around the Redmond Senior Center at 8703 160th Ave. N.E.

The celebration features various vendors (Pet Pros, Mud Bay and others), games, educational displays and pet adoption opportunities through the Human Society, MaxMobile and Meow Cat Rescue. There will be flyball and lure racing demonstrations as well as Canine Good Citizen tests, tricks demos, a kid’s dog show, face painting and a story walk featuring the book “What Not to do at the Zoo” by Redmond authors Morgan and Linda Gresky. There will also be ferrets, exotic parrots and some representatives from the Farrel-McWhirter Farm Park. Most activities take place inside the Senior Center.

The entrance to the garage is east of the Senior Center, and parking is free. Well-mannered, house-trained pets on a 6-foot or shorter leash are welcome. There will be no food for people at the fair.
